Synopsis

In a world of spiritual quick fixes and formulaic approaches to hearing God, Christine Westhoff invites readers into a more authentic journey—one that embraces mystery, vulnerability, and the whole of our humanity. Drawing from over thirty years of prophetic ministry and spiritual direction, Westhoff courageously admits: "I'm less sure about His voice every year I walk this earth, and I think that's a "good thing." This refreshing honesty opens the door to a profound exploration of how we truly commune with the Divine.

Through personal stories of both transcendent encounters and painful silences, Westhoff guides readers beyond techniques and toward transformation. She reveals how our deepest longings, darkest moments, and most persistent doubts can become pathways to hearing God in ways we never imagined.

This is not a step-by-step manual but an invitation to a lifelong pilgrimage of opening our hearts to the One who is closer to us than we are to ourselves. With tender wisdom, Westhoff shows how:

• The “shallow end” of our souls can drown out God’s whispers

• Our bodies play a vital role in spiritual listening

• Our cultural filters influence how we interpret God’s presence

• Waiting can be a sacred practice rather than a spiritual punishment

• Doubt can deepen faith rather than destroy it

"About the Voice of God” speaks to those hungry for a more embodied, nuanced spirituality—one that honors both the ineffable mystery of God and the intimate ways He communicates with His beloved creation.
