About the Authors

Wendy Page Arruda is a retired first grade teacher and currently a special education paraprofessional and tutor. "Silly Sounding Sentences" is her first self-published picture book. She loves being creative and will continue to write children's books in the future. Wendy enjoys traveling, reading, going to concerts, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. Currently, she resides in North Stonington, CT with her husband, two sons, and five fur babies.

After receiving her BFA in design graphics, Dayne Sislen's creative career started in advertising and marketing as an award winning graphic designer and art director. 20+ years later, she stumbled into the children's book world by illustrating a picture book for one of the agency's clients. She fell in love with children's picture books and illustration. During the last 15 years, she has illustrated 18 children's book projects for talented authors. Her home and studio is in St. Louis, Missouri.
