Synopsis

A shattering change late in life has left Bill Thompson without purpose or direction. Can the Arts help him find a new way forward?

Bill's long career in magazine writing and editing has given him identity and meaning. But when toxic office politics cause him to walk away from the job he loves, he wanders without purpose—until he ventures outside his comfort zone and discovers a deferred passion for the creative Arts.
Bill’s dive into creativity turns out to be more challenging than he imagined. Still, he learns to sing for the first time in his life and discovers a knack for the difficult art of drawing the human figure. Above all, he decides to write again and takes on the tangled theme of a 9/11 airline crash on a tiny Pennsylvania village.
Will Bill's creative efforts reward him with Art’s healing power--or will he find another source of renewal that was totally unexpected?
“Bill's writing, his drawing and his music are an inspiration,” writes Ari Goldman, author of The Late Starters Orchestra. “And so is this book. Read it. It will make you a better person."
