Synopsis

Golems, djinns, nagas, and fairies are incredibly powerful, mystical creatures. But that doesn’t mean they’re scary.

At Collinstein Academy they are students just like anywhere else. They make friends, fall in love, and get in fights – just like humans.

Emmett the golem is new to the Academy and to the world. It’s hard to be a student when you’re only 3.5 weeks old, but it’s even harder when your reaction to lies is to get bigger, stronger, and sometimes lose all control.

Emmett just wants to know the truth, and when student projects are being destroyed at school, he is determined to find out who is behind it before he gets angry and hurts someone…again.

About this title

About the Author

Father...teacher...writer...techie... (The last three are not necessarily in that order)Since 2005, I've been teaching at a public middle school - briefly in Fairfax, VA and mostly in Lexington, MA. I started teaching Social Studies, but now I teach teachers and students how to use technology to learn. Writing has always been a way for me to open the release valve in my brain, whether it was poetry in high school and college, press releases immediately afterwards, non-fiction and memoir for a while once I became a father, and now I've entered the exciting world of MG and YA Speculative Fiction/Fantasy. I can be found on Twitter with the handle @howardwolke, or you can always check back on this site for my latest book news.
