Synopsis
A sweet and funny story with soft watercolor illustrations follows the growth of an insecure lion cub as he makes an unexpected friend and learns a new approach to life.
Meet Rey. Even though his parents are head of their pride in the savanna, he is perpetually teased and bullied because his chin is so small - too small for any respectable lion. The pride worries about him. How will he roar? How will he hunt? How will he ever gain the respect lead a pride like his father?
The most important question for Rey, though, is how can he stay safe from the terror of all the cubs - great big elephants with great big feet? Even though he's nearly grown, he's still terrified of being caught in a stampede of frightened elephants.
One day, the teasing goes too far, and Rey runs far away from home. Lost and afraid, he meets a friendly elephant named Pax who shows him a new way to look at life. With a new understanding and a new friend, Rey finds his way home - to his family and to himself.
In this uplifting story about an unusual lion, Rey will learn how to choose his own path, and that how he looks doesn't change who he is.
