In the current administration of Donald J. Trump, lies become truth. Cruelty toward the poor, the sick and minorities is de riguer. Elections are considered manipulable, trending toward unnecessary. Using the National Guard against political opponents is deemed appropriate. Destruction of the federal government in favor of a dictatorship appears to be a main goal of the Republican Party. How did this happen? This book explains it. With constant citation to factual information, it explains how, over many decades, the rich and powerful have suborned higher education, shoved dark money into our elections, lied about global warming and the dangers of cigarettes, invented “trickledown economics” etc., et al. so as to benefit only themselves and turned the GOP into a wholly owned subsidiary.
