Max Sokolov, a parts runner for a railroad company, went out with some of his friends at the railroad supply department but because they were presently in a Muslim country they weren't going to find any alcohol to enjoy so they resorted to the local intoxicant hashish. Max was pleased to have the runner job refusing to join his fathers' "business". He wanted to have nothing to do with crime so he got a job far away from Moscow. The next morning, Max was missing from roll call and while watching a video passed to him from one of his lieutenants the crime boss Ivan Sokolov watched as he saw his only son being beheaded in the name of Islam. He watched is several times, trying to gain as much information about the murderers as he could. Vengeance was the only thing he lived for now, he was going to kill as many Muslims he could to show how unwise it was to murder his only child.
Shaman was in Saint Peters' Basilica when the Archangel Michael exploded into view and delivered the order God sent, to meet with him immediately in the valley of Heaven. Upon his arrival, God explained how a man in Russia was planning to kill a great many Muslims for revenge and if he was allowed to do so he would be starting a war between the Muslims, and everyone else, that would eventually kill more than a billion people, guilty and innocent. God ordered Shaman to find a way to stop the killing, and do it quickly as he had very little time to intercept the Russians' plans.
