Synopsis
If you think life ends after seventy, this is the book for you. Feeling fed up with modern life in the UK, this couple in their seventies decided to make a break for it, sell their house, pack their things, and move to the tropics in search of a more exotic way of life. Finding the place they loved in Sri Lanka was only part of the journey. Finding a house to rent, selling their home in England, and complying with visa rules were anything but straightforward. However, once they overcame these challenges, they found themselves with a lifestyle and home better than they had ever dreamed of. A watchman, who turned out to be skilled in all kinds of work including cooking which came with the rented house. Later, three dogs became part of the family. Bats and birds filled the skies, while palm civets lived in the roof, and palm squirrels were everywhere. Colorful birds, friendly cobras, mongooses, and monitor lizards roamed the grounds. Leaf-eating monkeys picked unripe fruit while perched on the roof…
