Synopsis

One can't identify with hope until one has experienced hopelessness. One can't love unconditionally unless one has been loved unconditionally. No one can feel accepted until they have first accepted.

Coming Out of the Closet to Discover Jesus is a heartfelt and courageous exploration of reconciling faith, sexuality, hope, and grace. In this book, Billye Graham Bowman shares her personal journey of finding her Christian identity as a homosexual person, overcoming pain, loss, and violence, and reconciling with God and faith. With compassion and honesty and through Bowman's life story, the book examines the struggles and questions of her life and tells a beautiful and inspiring tale of hope, forgiveness, and the love and grace of God in the face of abuse, confusion, and the distractions of the world.

About this title

About the Author

The voice of concert artist Billye Bowman has been lifted in praise of God nationally and internationally-both in song and in word. A graduate of the American Institute of Musical Studies in Austria, the author carried the message of God's love in song to church services, conventions, revivals, and other praise gatherings. Yet there was a time when she lived without the light of God's redeeming love. Her years of darkness and her journey to the light are shared frankly and philosophically in Coming Out of the Closet to Discover Jesus.Billye Bowman passed away after a prolonged illness at the age of 86. This book is her legacy of love, forgiveness, and the character of God.
