Synopsis
The principal object proposed in these Poems was to choose
incidents and situations from common life, and to relate them,
throughout, as far as was possible in a selection of language
really used by common men.
Humble and rustic life was generally chosen, because, in that condition,
the essential passions of the heart find a better soil in which they can
attain their maturity ,are less under restraint.
It has been found by many that poetry can act as medicine.
Dr Alak Pal’s poetry does a better job in teaching
because it is about embracing the human aspect of suffering,
not just knowing how many lymph nodes are positive and where
the pain is on a 1-to-10 scale. I know not, Dr. Alak Pal worked
harder at being a poet or a physician but through his career
trajectory so far, he excelled at both.
