Shayla C. Freeman, MD left Chapel Hill with a Journalism and Media Production degree. However, after years of working in the scripted television and film sphere, she spun a full 180 degrees to pursue a career in medicine. Ultimately, she obtained her MD and has worked almost a decade as an emergency medicine physician. Now, she's intertwined both passions into this endeavor as an author.
