Synopsis

Improve your Swedish vocabulary and reading comprehension with this crime thriller. This book is based on "Överdos", but has been simplified to make it easy to read.

Överdos received very good reviews when it was first published by Bra Böcker. It is about the former bank robber Kirre Oskarsson, whose wife Ingela is murdered. Together with Ingela's brother Benny, he sets out to find the murderer.

When the series and Kirre were published, critics wrote, among other things:
"Jörgen Hansen has an admirable literary handling of the settings, a harshness and luminosity in the depiction that is pure poetry. (.....) Kirre's brother-in-law, Benny, the sublime psychopath, is a character with real resonance, a madman and demon who travels on the road of life like a bulldozer with no one at the wheel."
Ruth Halldén, Dagens Nyheter

I tried to maintain the suspense in the book and at the same time cut it down to a third of its length. At the same time, I changed the language. I've removed the slang frequently used by the main characters, simplified words and expressions and the sentence structure. You need a dictionary to read the book, but it's not about looking up all the words you don't know, it's about understanding the context. That's what I do when I'm learning a new language. And if you want to improve your listening skills you can visit my Youtube chanel where I read the book.
