About the Author
Carl was born in Hannibal, Missouri.
After moving to California in 1949 and then enlisting into the United States Navy as a teenager he embarked on a journey that took him from the furthest reaches of Asia to the furthest reaches of the human soul. Both he and his sister's husband served alongside each other, Carl on the USS Midway supporting his brother-in-law who was on land serving in Marine Corp operations. For 9 months during that historic year in military history: 1965.
Then going on to live the American dream. Building a life, a career, and a family all with the support of the military and the training he received. His love for the outdoors and America has led him to the natural wonders of the world and the most important aspects of life: love, family, commitment, and country. Never losing the faith instilled by his belief in something greater. Serving. For the greater good of self and others.
He is now retired left to travel the frontiers that still exist in America.
Meeting the wonderful people that have made his sacrifice worthwhile.
And his journey: one for the ages.
