Synopsis
Me First is an anthology of poetry for our modern times and covers current affairs, never ending stories and the human condition; although I say it is for the modern age, in truth it is for any age; any time, since history is a revolving door of similarities; similar mistakes, similar conditions. This book calls to mind the pain people go through in their day to day lives and many social and cultural situations that exist; and the cruelty and hardships that many people are forced to endure, and have always endured. Some of my main concerns are the issues people have with their mental health. Today, like yesterday, like tomorrow, there will be problems where entire swathes of society; as they are cut off from the help they need. Our world is divided into sections where the ‘who you know,’ will get you advancement, and the position you want; and the ‘what you know,’ will be shut out, and shut down.
