Synopsis
You almost certainly don’t know David, but you will enjoy reading his book.
David is an addict. He has been addicted to books for most of his life, and this is the story of parts of that life: it’s a sort of collage, and most of it is true.
A good book will make you smile, maybe even laugh out loud; it will provoke and intrigue you and make you want to turn the page; it might even make you cry. Names are shamelessly dropped - Peter O'Toole, Eric Idle, John Martyn, Maggie O'Farrell, W.H. Auden, inter alia. Stories are told, including a solution to the mystery of Gunner William Haines, who went up naked with his rifle onto the roof of the Brean Down fort on July 4th 1900 at 5.00 in the morning.
This is a good book. It is not very large, but it contains multitudes. You really should read it.
