The year is 1877. The Clayson family has been situated in the west since slavery was abolished. Enjoying life in a free world, they are taken by surprise to learn that their deaf teenage daughter is expecting. With no other males within miles suspicions arise as to who could have impregnated her. The story centers around Samuel, the child who is born under mysterious circumstances. His travels throughout his early life place him in contact with those who need him most. Unbeknownst to them their decisions of his fate usher him to his destiny.
