Synopsis

"Bulb - A Light Hearted Tale" is the third children's book by @Josh_Harris_Illustration. Like his previous books, this a rhyming book exploring the issues faced by young people and adults alike but, this time, he explores the issues of low self esteem and anxiety that many of us face. This book demonstrates how we can start to overcome these issues by having simple dreams and daring to follow them through.

The book follows "Billy", an anxious child that does not feel at home in the world he lives in. He struggles to understand himself and why he seems so different to those around him and is unable to control his emotions until he starts to focus on what really matters to him and learns to dream about the things he wants.

The style of this book is slightly different from Josh's previous works. The idea was originally developed several years ago whilst Josh was studying at High School and "Billy" became one of the characters that appeared in his art work in the following years but was forgotten about whilst Josh developed other characters and ideas.

Josh decided to resurrect "Billy" as part of his current work studying Art and Design at College. He needed to undertake a mixed media project, entitled "Abstract Journey" as part of his year end assessment and "Billy" seemed the perfect subject for this; every piece of artwork uses a different technique and mix media from simple sticky note collages through to clay models, biro sketches through to watercolour, etc..
