This is the third volume in Dr.'s Van Kleeck's trilogy in the defense of a standard sacred text for the English-speaking Church. In this volume, they expand the argument beyond philosophical and exegetical considerations and onto a robust theological case anchored in historic Pre-Enlightenment theology.
Is there a robust theology of Providential Preservation derived from Scripture? What exactly is inspiration and what is its scope? How is it that a Christian community could accept one version of Scripture at one time and another version at another time?
The Van Kleeck father-and-son duo addresses these questions arguing first from first principles and then onto the self-attesting, self-authenticating, and self-interpreting character of Scripture. They then turn to the doctrines of inspiration and preservation as well as the role of the Holy Spirit in the acts of inspiration and preservation.
Finally, they turn their attention to the process whereby a given believing community can move from one standard sacred text to another and why that text in the modern English-speaking Church is the Authorized Version as based on the Textus Receptus.
