Synopsis

When Marilyn discovers her favorite band playing a bit away from her home, she's desperate to go. However, when her trip turns sour, she'll need to do whatever she can to make it home in one piece.

Call it intuition or anxiety, but Marilyn knew better than to go to Oklahoma City that weekend. However, despite her mom's warnings and her own misgivings, she simply can't miss the rock and roll concert she's been waiting for.

Soon enough, Marilyn is on her way to the concert when she experiences a change in her environment that leads to fear and uncertainty. Immediately, she wants to high-tail it back home-but returning isn't as easy as it sounds.

Trying to get home, Marilyn encounters many difficult obstacles and home begins to feel farther and farther away.

Though it feels like such a long way, Marilyn endures through walking miles, temperature fluctuations, and more.

Will Marilyn finally make it home, safe and sound? And how deep is her resolve to get home and not give up?

The Long Way Home is an engaging novel for all ages to read and enjoy. Author Mary Lynn Hansen hopes that Marilyn's journey will inspire her readers to build their own courageous hearts and never give up.
