Synopsis
When Sammy the sand shark's adventurous spirit lands him in hot water, his friends come to the rescue.
One sunny day, just off the coast of Amelia Island, Florida, Sammy the sand shark is swimming with his sister and a friend when they decide to race each other to a nearby jetty. Eager to win, Sammy forgets to slow down, and his race ends with a surprising crash. Missing three front teeth right before picture day at school, Sammy is distraught. Overhearing his cries, some sympathetic birds remember Dr. James, the kind fish dentist who likes to hunt for shark teeth. Enlisting the help of some dogs and their humans, the group combs the beach in search of replacement teeth. And they are in luck! With teeth to spare, Dr. James swims out to Sammy, but will any of the new teeth fit?

About the Authors
Becky Lanier is an early childhood special education teacher and consultant. She lives in rural Kansas with her husband, Jim, and their three corgis. They have a son, daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren. When not working or writing, she enjoys creating quilts and sewing. Inspired by her summer vacations on Amelia Island, Florida, Sammy the Sand Shark's Lost Teeth is her first book.
Julie Peterson Shea is an artist, illustrator, and dedicated educator living in rural Kansas. In addition to illustrating children's books, Julie creates original artwork that reflects her passion for details and personal storytelling. When not busy with her artistic endeavors, Julie enjoys rockhounding, listening to audiobooks, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
