Dr. Trenna B. Richardson started her career in nursing at a community college. In 1991, Richardson completed a practical nursing program at Texarkana College. Then, she continued at Texarkana College to complete an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1993. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, and her Doctoral of Nursing Practice from Post University. Richardson has taught nursing for 16 years and has served as an Interim Dean of Nursing. She has received an Outstanding Faculty Member Award and won the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Award in 2022. In 2023, Richardson accepted a position at Tennessee State University as a retention specialist in the School of Nursing.
