Synopsis

Jean Cage is a diligent man who is often overlooked in life; he goes unrecognized at work although he gives it his all. When his boss fires him from his 9 to 5, life surprisingly steps in.

On a day where business-as-usual turns into losing a job and his only method of transportation, 19-year-old Jean Cage walks in a fog from his ex-job to his home-encountering odd situations from the steps of his office building, to the bus, to his home.

Using his unique voice, author Christopher J. Martindale attempts to make his readers feel the franticness of mental illness through intrigue, novelty, fear, enthrallment, and curiosity.

What follows is life coming at Jean from every angle and subverting the status quo to create a winding and wild reality. Jean Cage Call of The Void uses a nuanced narrative to combine themes of:

●               Anarchy

●               Consequences of choices

●               Philosophy and revolution

●               Social environment

●               Activism

●               Technology tear down

Jean Cage Call of the Void is intended for adult readers ages 18 to 65. With a wide audience in mind, the author covers a broad range of topics hoping that anarchists, teachers, professors, university students, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, socialists, democratic socialists, intellectuals, and the mentally ill will pull out different meanings, lessons, and enjoyment from the novel.
