Durante quince años fue redactor jefe de la revista Historia de España y el Mundo y actualmente dirige la revista Turismo Rural y colabora con diversas publicaciones especializadas en historia. Ha publicado cinco libros de relatos –el último, Verdes hojas ovaladas (Franz, 2021)–, cuatro ensayos divulgativos –Breve historia de la literatura española, Historia a pie de calle, La Segunda República española en 50 lugares y 30 paisajes de la Guerra Civil–, además de un poemario y sendas novelas cortas. A lo largo de su trayectoria ha recibido varias decenas de premios literarios.
