Synopsis

And A White Moon Beams is a tale about two socially disparate families brought together during The Great War of 1914-18. The joy, the fighting and the suffering are vividly relayed in this well written and thought-provoking story.

The author draws upon his considerable knowledge of the era to paint an accurate picture of the times, telling a story which would have been repeated thousands of times over by ordinary families caught up in the misery and tension of conflict.

‘No, not yet … not while he’s still working at the gunpowder factory. But he has a passion for flying, you said so yourself. So, how long will it be before he stops talking about it; how long can he resist the challenge? I know some of the girls at the factory think he should be in uniform … and now you tell me he’s been presented with a white feather: can’t say I’m surprised’.
