Synopsis

Five Fun & Flashy Sonatinas for Ten Tiny Fingers: Easy Sonatinas for the First Years at Sonata Festivalis a collection of small sonatinas for very early to late beginner piano students. The collection starts with easy five-finger position sonatinas for early beginners and advances to slightly more difficult sonatinas that still maintain five-finger positions but jump between those positions by step or by octave. The final movement in the book moves out of five-finger positions in the right hand while maintaining simplicity through an easy, repetitive left hand accompaniment. There are also a couple of virtuosic movements for those students who want to play something fast and fancy but aren't advanced enough yet to do the regular sonatina repertoire. Each of these attractive and fun sonatinas has an entertaining and endearing name, as do the movements, in order to facilitate the expression of different moods. These sonatinas are perfect for the first several years of sonata festival.
