A new edition of Gustave Flaubert's classic retelling of "The Temptation of St. Antony" -- the story of the final temptation endured in the desert by the Egyptian Church father Anthony the Great. This was one of Flaubert's first works, though he revisited and reworked the novel repeatedly over the rest of his life, eventually publishing a "final" version in 1874. This edition is based on the unattributed translation of this final edition published in the United States in 1904.
