Synopsis

This book is a collection of essays that were published in weekly emails to friends and family during the Covid-19 pandemic. The subject line of those emails was “Daley News.” I wanted to keep in touch during these difficult times. I knew that if I wanted people to write back, I’d have to say more than “Hey, how the Hell are you?” So, the essays are about the military boarding school where my Mother sent me as a reward for my good behavior - McDonogh School. Some are about my years as a Boy Scout leader. Others are just about things I found interesting. My travels around the world over a long and fun life are the subject of others. Some are even autobiographical. All of these, I’m sure, you’ll find interesting. Many of them will make you smile. It has been a really fun project to write these little stories every week. This volume is the first collection of what I hope will be many! Enjoy! I’m sure you will.
