Synopsis

The shameful things the people of Tilehurst had been involved in during the Asteroid attack were by now more or less forgotten. There were those of course that fostered a lot more guilt, they would make spiteful remarks as we walked by. The money we made out of our handy pastime issuing the Library cards in those days would occasionally bubble to the surface. Prompting the occasional snide remarks. They needn’t have worried, all the money was well exhausted by now. I have always wanted to be rich, it didn’t matter to me just how I achieved my aim, as long as I arrived in that glorious position of being able to cock-a-snoop at the world and my employer. Foul or fair, who would care? Legal or otherwise would do for me and was well okay, as long as I could feel the thickness of the wedge.
