Synopsis
This short story explores the grey zone between waking and dreaming. A mysterious machine suddenly appears in Joe Smith’s bedsit. Joe is a simple man, disfigured by a botched hare lip operation, who works as a toilet cleaner. At first, the machine appears to offer Joe an opportunity to change his miserable life. But gradually the situation changes, and what the machine has to offer turns into a terrible nightmare …
