The Shaolin Lohan Style has a flair and dynamism uncommon for a traditional northern style. The movements are quick and powerful and utilize the body’s torque in a unique yet practical way. The style was greatly popularized by the legendary “Saber King of Seven Provinces” and chief security guard, Sun Yufeng, when he became a chief instructor at the Jing Wu school in Guangzhou.This book details the form, “Lohan #1,” of the Shaolin Lohan Style as taught by Sifu Wong Jack Man, and gives an overview of some of the other forms in the style. Lineages relating to Wong Jack Man, and then through Kam Yuen, Paul Eng,Al Dacascos, and others have also taught this form. The first form of this style, Lohan #1, effectively brands the style and introduces full-bodied swinging strikes and deadly low kicks.
