Rabbi Meir Kahane's famous address to the National Press Club came shortly after he secured a single seat in the Israeli Knesset in 1984. The night he was murdered, he delivered a similar speech in New York, stressing the need for every Jew to return to Israel. Crucially, this message was delivered prior to the Oslo Accords and before the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) was given land and weapons to establish the Palestinian Authority.
