In a time of upheaval and brutality in society, it is necessary to look at those incarcerated and reevaluate the journey that led them to their cage, behind steel doors and bars. 2020 has become a year where the chains of injustice and carnage thrive around the country. It is a time where second chances are all but forgotten and punishment is society’s way of keeping the country stuck from moving forward toward change.While there are individuals in correctional facilities around the world that deserve to be chained…lost…forgotten and the key thrown away forever; there are others that have stumbled and swayed off the societal path that is deemed appropriate.
