It will go against the grain on most topics you've probably already read about. I've been accused of thinking differently and not always in a good way. Sometimes people have that look on their face of "what the heck is this guy talking about?" I feed off of that. I use it to stoke that fire inside me. But I surely don't bow to their opinions and accusations even though they have a right to express them. What I believe is right, is almost always right for me. Even if that means changing my mind because maybe that outside source had a better idea. The key is to recognize it and use your gut to follow it. Ever go into a room and decide to sit down just as someone tells you to sit down? Do you sit down anyway? Or do you let the influence of that person change your mind to stand just because you "can't be told what to do"? Funny how the mindset can be sometimes. Put away the pride folks! This book is probably a bit more "in your face" than you're used to. I just started paying attention a long time ago and get a little frustrated when I see someone being "led" by another person or group claiming to help (they are probably sincere but that's beside the fact). If they're calling YOU "Stupid", you're probably on the right track!
