Synopsis
The End of the Circus is an allegorical tale about the journey to courage, love, and self-discovery. It follows Jabari, a grieving African runaway, who seeks adventure in faraway lands, but finds himself cleaning the stalls of circus animals, impoverished, and longing to return home. When the circus ends tragically, he takes it upon himself to free an abused and emotionally wounded elephant, a duty-bound zebra, an angry lion, and an enlightened orangutan.On the run from those who would keep them oppressed, and guided by the sage orangutan, they discover along the way that they are much more than roles they played, and that true freedom lies in letting go of the circus within.This heartfelt novel weaves the common fears that keep us from, and the truths that guide us to, discovering our deepest selves, inviting readers to entertainingly explore their own inner journey.
