Synopsis
It is the mid-19th century and Achilles McAra is trawling the seedy back streets of London plying an unrewarding trade as a coachman. He is a small, physically and morally repulsive - and probably homicidal - alcoholic. Regularly accompanied by his sickly but fearsome pet rat he is a man of revolting habits, a compulsive liar and a tireless braggart. In these turbulent times Queen Victoria has chosen, despite some vague risk to her safety, to visit Scotland. Unlikely as it appears the most repellent citizen in the realm is about to become involved in the royal event - with chaotic and lethal consequences.
