Synopsis

Based on the moving true story of a World War I war dog, passed down through generations from a war nurse who witnessed the events firsthand.

In the summer of 1915, seventeen-year-old William "Bill" Higgins leaves his quiet village in Berkshire, brimming with dreams of glory and adventure. Alongside his best friend John, he enlists in the British Army, eager to serve King and country.

But the rat-infested, mud-choked trenches of the Western Front swiftly shatter those illusions. War is not glory—it's a brutal fight for survival.

There, Bill encounters Corporal: an extraordinary Airedale Terrier holding the official rank of corporal in the British Army. This remarkable mercy dog has already saved countless lives on the war's bloodiest battlefields, using his uncanny intelligence and fearless courage to locate the wounded amid the fallen, guiding stretcher-bearers to men who might otherwise perish alone.

When Bill is assigned as Corporal's bodyguard—a perilous role with a grim life expectancy—the young soldier and the valiant dog forge an unbreakable bond. Together, they endure the horrors of shellfire, gas attacks, and relentless carnage.
Through it all, Corporal stands steadfast by Bill's side: guardian, comrade, and truest friend.

An unforgettable tale of courage, loyalty, and a dog's love in the trenches of the Western Front.
