Synopsis
'Mr. Philpott; Jennifer’s first visit to Somware' is the curious story of a little girl and the most wonderful adventures that may be found within only the most loved of gardens, by the most devoted of gardeners and curious of children.
This is a story about magic, gardens, and muddy fingered adventures. Jennifer and her Mother have slowly restored her Grandmother’s old garden on Krom Drift Farm in the Drakensberg Mountains of South Africa. With every new flower that blooms the magic in the garden grows stronger and long forgotten secret pathways that are hidden within it reopen. On a quiet day, while playing alone in the garden, Jennifer accidentally discovers a magical land called Somware. In her first visit to Somware, Jennifer learns that there are no boundaries to any garden, and that hidden pathways link gardens around the world with the most curious and muddy of young adventurers.
In this first adventure, Jennifer meets Mr Philpott and his wonderful new friends. After much tea drinking and cake eating, she goes on an even more adventurous journey. With the help of her new Meerkat friend, Jennifer tumbles into the gardens of Castle Ashby in Northamptonshire.
