Lark on the Wing by Ron Perry
“Although this lark didn’t return to her nest again, the hamlet and its people would bear their imprint through my life”
Redlynch Players and Fordingbridge Players reunite to perform this captivating world premiere bringing to the stage for the first time, Flora’s whole life. Flora Thompson who was born in poverty at Juniper Hill, Oxfordshire n 1876, received a meagre education. Despite this uninspiring early start, she wrote a world-wide acclaimed trilogy Lark Rise to Candleford, which is still in print today. This new play, featuring live music and traditional folk songs, is presented to commemorate both the 75th anniversary of Flora’s death and the 65th anniversary of Redlynch Players.
