This is an almost-popular treatment of Einstein's first theory of relativity, which he called "special or restricted" and which he published in 1905. More books have been written on the subject than best-selling novels; I have read about ten, the first ones back when I was in university and then when I decided to delve deeper into the topic. I decided to publish this text as a volume of my series of "Mastering Science for Everybody” after the book on astrophysics, which had a success that I had not foreseen and for the comments that I received. Relativity is the foundation of our modern scientific history and I wanted to write it with the same method that I used for the first book, which is "almost popular". By this, I mean I focused on maintaining rigorous and clear explanations in this book.
