Synopsis

It took me a long time for many things to develop that led to the overall transformation of my quality of life as an autistic person. I am now 37 years old and experiencing happiness for the first time in my life. Throughout this book, I will make the case for the fact that there really isn’t such a thing as “bad” aba therapy. If it is bad, it is likely not true applied behavior analysis.

Peter Gerhardt, a well-respected behavior analyst, says “context is king” This book will tackle the popular issue of social context. The inability to generalize and apply skills across different social context prevents someone on the autism spectrum from navigating social relationships and living their best life. The author of this book will share personal stories of his journey as an autistic person in which he didn’t appropriately interpret or understand the social context of a situation.

Autism is a social contextual issue in the social world we live in. We will discover many hidden areas of behavior analysis and autism from the lens of an autistic adult. This book will address many other areas of autism and behavior analysis from the perspective of an autistic adult.
