Synopsis
Here we have two books of poetry in a single volume by the founder of Green Panda Press (Cleveland 2001). In This Blue August Bree writes to a lover, to an amalgam of lovers, real and fantasy, to poetry herself. She is a romantic who seeks ideal love and reveals her vulnerabilities through imagery taken from the nature she explores in rural Kentucky. In Beware she writes to you. Yes you, specifically. Her message: there is no them.
These poems were hand-selected by the author from favorite works spanning more than 30 years of her life as a poet. She writes in two distinct voices - one beckons us all to love, the other keeps a record of what she encounters in the field and on the lover's playing-field.
