Synopsis

August Ren presents her first book, In Love With Everybody But Myself Maybe. A collection of sapphic poetry about the honest, haughty, and gorgeous experience of herself with women in New York City. This poetry book for lesbians and lovers is also for anyone that enjoys raw language and imagery-integrated storytelling. It is a reminder to include ourselves in the love we eagerly give away to others. It is the journey leading to that realization.

This 9-year collection is divided into four parts. 'In Love' represents the raw emotions of first times and youth. 'With Everybody' represents the journey through sex-positive exploration after heartbreak. 'But Myself' is a reflection on the genuine, un-glorified experience of subdued loneliness and eating disorder. 'Maybe' is a reminder of hope, detachment, and relearning independence.

In Love With Everybody But Myself Maybe presents the odyssey of the successive phases of the heart, the mindless wandering, and the detours into midnight bedrooms across the Hudson River.
