Synopsis

The heart behind this book stems from a practice that helped me get through the darkest time in my life. In 2017, I began experiencing depression, anxiety, and even suicidal thoughts for the first time in my life. There were times that I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it another day or not.

During that time, my dad began sending me little plastic cards that had one word on one side and a Bible verse on the other side. I kept one in my pocket every single day and I even began making my own on index cards. I started taping them in my locker, on my desk, on the door of my room, and anywhere else that I would see them!

There were obviously so many other factors that played a part in my healing and freedom from anxiety and depression, but this was a tangible practice that I could cling to, and has stuck with me to this day!

In this book, I’ve written eight chapters about eight different words. These are powerful words—anchor words to cling to, focus on, and embrace in our lives! My hope is that through reading this book, you will be encouraged, equipped, and challenged!
