On July 16, 1862, the "Feast of Mt. Carmel" finds Zoroastrian priests, a.k.a. Dasturs, being hunted by the Alliance in Ahmedabad, India. Discretely called the "Alliance for a Christian Engineered Society," its members covertly refer to each other as Aces. Their love and respect for each other have them living together in an olive orchard outside of Jerusalem named "Mt. Hope." However, many assassins collectively residing in a single commune present their own set of challenging, unique circumstances.
Who can be trusted? Who is sleeping with whom? Does Pius believe Longley and Cozens supported Lambruschini? Will the love between Maria and Immanuel withstand the stress? Can Hajii ever accept Johnny MacGregor as his son-in-law? Although Clorinda is pregnant, who's the father? What actually happened to Fernando? Who hired Advik?
