Signers of The Declaration of Independence In Their Youth
(And A Few Founding Fathers)
When I think of the founding fathers, I imagine a number of very old men sitting around the meeting room of the Continental Congress. Actually, many of them were not very old (at least by today’s standards) but were in their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. A few were in their twenties and a few were in their 60’s. Benjamin Franklin was 70. I believe the first known photographs anywhere were taken in 1826 or 1827, so there are no photographs from 1776. These images are merely my interpretation of how these men actually looked based on paintings and drawings from the period. This book consists of AI portraits of the signers of the Declaration of Independence to show how they looked in 1776 (as realistically as possible). I included a few founding fathers that were not signers of the Declaration of Independence, because there were busy organizing the defense forces and preparing to fight the British. Remember that in 2026 we will be celebrating 250 years of independence as a nation.
