Synopsis

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming assessment practices in higher education, creating new opportunities for personalized learning, automated feedback, learning analytics, and enhanced educational quality. At the same time, its increasing adoption has raised important questions about academic integrity, fairness, transparency, data privacy, and trust. As AI-driven technologies become embedded in assessment design, grading, feedback, and misconduct detection, institutions must balance innovation with ethical responsibility and rigorous quality assurance. These challenges are particularly significant across diverse global higher education systems, where differences in resources, policies, and assessment cultures shape the implementation and impact of AI. Addressing these opportunities and concerns requires critical, interdisciplinary perspectives that support the responsible, inclusive, and effective use of AI in assessment. AI-Powered Assessments for Quality and Integrity in Global Higher Education examines the opportunities and challenges of integrating AI into higher education assessment to enhance quality, integrity, and meaningful learning outcomes across diverse global contexts. Moving beyond purely technical perspectives, this book explores assessment as a socio-pedagogical and ethical practice shaped by policy, institutional cultures, governance structures, and social inequalities. Covering topics such as academic integrity, curriculum innovation, and teacher education, this book is an indispensable academic resource for graduate and doctoral students, quality assurance and accreditation professionals, higher education administrators, institutional leaders, academic integrity officers, student affairs practitioners, policymakers, and more.
