About The Book
Peter Donlon was born to a family of love and devotion but soon came to learn a vindictive adult
neighbor can destroy a family with a well-planned attack.
He hated his mother for years and finally escaped her control and resentfulness when joining the
Army. There, he distinguished himself during the Korean War. After surviving several life-taking
hardships, Peter developed a sense of closeness with the man above and finally asked for his
guidance.
Forgiveness led him to establish a home near his father, where he met Arlene Hardy, a newly
commissioned Park Ranger, who helped him appreciate the life he had before him.
But it was Elizabeth McMillan, a Haute Star newspaper reporter, who stole his heart and gold to
face his reprisal.
Peter Donlon’s down-to-earth honesty and straightforwardness finds a way to triumph over
the shadows in his life. Like he once said, “Pick up a hand grenade, and you can live a whole
lifetime in a second!”
While part of this story is drawn from the author's life, the book should be considered a work of
fiction.
