Synopsis
Even if you are a Christian, you may not be very familiar with the book of Titus.
The book of Titus is a power-packed but often avoided little book. It seems that people often go to 1 and 2 Timothy instead. 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus make up what are called the pastoral epistles.
The Apostle Paul, knowing that he was coming to the end of his life, instructed Timothy and then Titus, two young men that he called his sons in the faith, his true sons in the faith, indicating he had led them to the Lord. Paul had limited time on earth, and he had to make it count. So what did he say to Titus and what can we learn from this little book?
This book teaches us how to be good disciples of Christ, how to act as Christians, and how to encourage other members of the church to act. If we are saved, we will demonstrate the evidence of salvation in our lives. But we must learn to do this, and we must make it a major effort, make it our profession, no matter what else we do.
