Synopsis
This is an honest account of a life devoted to the pursuit of art. In Scott Cawood's case - art is life is art. His is a dance with the fire as salvaged pieces of metal are heated, hammered, welded and finished-ultimately transformed into a body of work that includes municipal and private commissions. Humans, animals, and plant life stand with imagined spirits. Legendary blues musicians are captured in steel as are whole cities and a lot of dancing. However, this book is not all about metal. It truly exists to tell stories, commiserate with fellow humans navigating this world and occasionally offer advice ... all from the mind of a fully committed artist who loves life and all its hard edges.

About the Author
Scott's artwork is the experience of following his natural creative intuition as it forms in his head, bounces around in his heart and becomes physically manifested in his hands. It's an exhilarating internal dance that culminates in external expression.He says he has always used steel as his medium because it's friendly in his hands and he is acutely aware of the magnetic draw between himself and the material, especially scrap steel.
