Synopsis

U. S. federal indictments name Ross's well-respected husband as the ringleader in a multi-million-dollar conspiracy case of mail fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering. Days after his arrest, eleven others are indicted, including his three sons, daughter, and son-in-law. The case makes international headlines.

Although Ross had always been uneasy about her husband’s drive to be rich again, she never doubted his word. After the indictments, she knew he lied about the reasons they were living abroad. Yet, when further unfathomable rumors surface about the man she had been married to for the last decade, Ross is determined to prove them wrong. Instead, she unearths transgressions that make the Fed's case pale in comparison. She discovers a double life that was so completely out of character from the man she loved, and thought she knew that only a person devoid of conscience could have possibly pulled it off.

This true-life memoir is a behind-the-headlines story that reads more like a novel in an exotic locale. Through the eyes of the unwitting wife of a psychopath, Ross takes us on her journey, from their initial meeting to the fateful day of her husband's arrest. We follow along as the truth unfolds through her self-launched investigations and her arduous struggles to accept unspeakable realities. Left in the aftermath of destruction, it is also an intimate personal account of her long and hard road to heal physically, mentally, and emotionally, to overcome her past and move on.
